The bulk of the collection is from Jones’ childhood in Atlanta in the 1940s and 1950s.

Billy Jones papers
This collection contains magazine and news clippings collected by Mr. Jones that relate to Atlanta's gay clubs, performers, and members of the LGBTQ community. Some clippings more directly reflect Jones's participation in the community, including his judging of drag pageants. The collection also contains correspondence, personal documents, and travel brochures created and collected by Jones.

Carl Mills letters to James Darsey
This collection consists of letters written by Carl Mills and sent to James Darsey. The letters track the trajectory of their relationship, beginning with their courtship and ending with their ambiguous reconciliation years later. Mills primarily wrote about his travels across California and his love for Darsey, but he also commented on how political hostility affected romantic relationships within gay and lesbian couples.

This collection consists of documents pertaining to the Apollo Room, interior decoration, and LGBT activism. These documents include Apollo Room travel brochures; an issue of House and Garden; and records documenting Stevens’s donations to Jerusalem House, a non-profit that housed low-income individuals affected by HIV/AIDS. Of particular note is correspondence between Stevens and the Jerusalem House about building an HIV/AIDS clinic in Midtown.

Jack Strouss and William Devaux Wilson papers
This collection contains personal correspondence from William "Bill" Devaux Wilson to Jack Strouss, sent mostly from California. In his letters, Wilson discusses their romantic relationship and his life in California. Of particular note is a letter stamped Oct. 11, 1954, in which Bill encourges Jack to marry and have children while still maintaining their relationship. The collection also contains poems and stories written by Wilson.
Karl Allquist diary
This collection contains a diary kept by Karl Allquist during the final years of his life in which he recorded his dreams, emotions, and his struggle with HIV. He wrote about the decision to tell his family and friends of the diagnosis, growing tensions between him and his partner, plans to go to Key West, and doctors' visits. He also documents the presence of HIV/AIDS in the media, treatments he received, and developing Kaposi’s Sarcoma.
